Interview is your entry gate into an organisation. Despite the obvious setback of the interview, organisations do not have a better way of choosing their employees. So within that short space of time, the short meeting between the interviewers and the attending interviewees, decisions have to be made on whom to be hired .

One of the questions to be asked is "tell me about yourself". This is an open question and can be a killing question. It is so open that you can tell them the whole load of your history. The key to successful job interview is preparation, and you have to prepare for this question.

So the question can be reworded... "tell me about yourself and show me that you are the right person for this job".
